The end of March completed
our 7th year of “The Voice of Reason” radio broadcast. We had open
lines all 4 hours and were greatly encouraged by the callers from all across the
country.
Over this last year, we have heard from many listeners, which in part have
encouraged us to have this year’s conference. Each year, we have tried to make
each conference better than the last, and this year is no exception.
A
few months back, I began to read different books and articles dealing with the
Old Testament wedding. The symbolism was there in the betrothal and marriage of
God to the twelve tribes of Israel and then the split of the tribes. The ten
northern tribes became known as Israel and the two tribes that remained were
Judah and Benjamin. They became known as The Kingdom of Judah.
God divorced Israel the ten northern tribes for idol worship and sent then into
the Assyrian captivity. Yet, he promised through the prophet, Hosea, that he
would betroth her (Israel) again in righteousness.
The marriage motif is all over the New Testament and what I finally saw is the
heart of all the New Testament teaching.
From a proper understanding, the preterist paradigm showed me what had been
missing and why many of our cherished traditions and practices had been
misunderstood.
The understanding of the seven feasts of Israel had been a great help to me but
the Hebrew wedding made it all comes together. The choosing of the bride, the
betrothal, the wedding and the supper paint mosaic that is incredible.
This year’s conference will be centered on the marriage of Jesus Christ and the
symbology that it was focused on in the first century.
In
my own quest of studying the scriptures I hold to a couple of basic ideas. The
Bible can never contradict itself and will always interpret itself given the
opportunity. I believe the Bible should be taken literally. This doesn’t mean
that when Jesus said in Luke 21:25 that there shall be signs in the Sun and the
Moon and Stars, we should believe that he’s talking about the literal Sun, Moon,
and Stars because we have already been given the meaning of Sun, Moon and Stars
in Genesis 37:10 when Joseph shared his dream with his father Jacob.
There Jacob defined himself as the Sun, Joseph’s mother as the Moon and the
twelve stars as his twelve sons. We see the symbology in Revelations 12:2 as
well.
Biblical typology is a key to understanding the message that the Bible holds. We
will show God the Father chose the bride for his son, and that was the betrothal
period, approximately AD30-70 (and then the marriage occurred after the fall of
Jerusalem). This also involves the Kingdom of Heaven, the Resurrection and where
and when the reign of Jesus Christ began, as King of kings, and Lord of lords.
The foundation for this will be seen in the session on Hebrew and Greek words
and understanding their meaning. Adam and Jesus are both said to be made in the
image of God, Gen. 1:26 and Col. 1:15. How should this be understood?
We
will also see how Daniel Chapter 2 {the statue} and how Chapter 7[the
ascension] fits into this mosaic.
This year we will also add a new dimension to the conference, a Biblical
monetary system. We will also be offering scholarships to anyone that needs
assistance. We will need you to call ahead so we can assign you a confirmation
number. If you can’t attend, but would like to help with the scholarships, we
will send you CD’s of the conference when they become available. Grace and truth
should be the goal of each of us. Come let us reason together.
